How a song is grown

  1. Each track's seed is mixed from the global seed and its track number — the same seed always grows the same songs.
  2. The seed picks which 6 styles to play, then for each style: a key, a scale, a tempo and a chord progression.
  3. A melody random-walks up and down the scale, snapping to chord tones on the strong beats; a bass follows the roots, an arpeggio weaves the chords, and drums join in for the choruses.
  4. Every instrument is synthesized as FM waves — operators modulate each other to create rich, expressive tones unique to each style.
  5. The render runs in your browser using OfflineAudioContext, then plays back via your browser's native audio player. Nothing is fetched from the network and no other file is ever needed.
